The Blue Danube waltz is playing in the background when Keir Dullea first meets Cindi Wood. We find Dullea's character, Dr. Dave Bowman, in 2001: A Space Odyssey waltzing to this tune as well. Could Kubrick have researched Hoodlum Priest before selecting Dullea? and before selecting the music score to 2001: A Space Odyssey?
