Did Gaspar Noe ultimately end up seeing this film?

Hi, it was known that he based the "Fright Break" gimmick on this film to use it in his 1998 feature film debut "I Stand Alone" ("Seul Contre Tous"), a disturbing French psychological drama, but at the time he claimed that he hasn't actually seen the film but simply has heard of the gimmick that was used in it.

My question is, did he actually end up perhaps later seeing it, anyone know?

Also, since both Homicidal and Seul Contre Tous had a sort of "double twist" in it, is it possible that maybe Gaspar Noe HAS seen it but somehow chose not to admit it, or maybe he saw bits of it including that gimmick?
