Helga *Spoiler*

The very second I saw Helga it was obviously a man. Why couldn't they have cast a more convincing actor?

You mean Warren, don't you? Helga was definitely a woman. It was Warren that was female.

I have to laugh at myself. All through the movie I was thinking, "this actor playing Warren is TERRIBLE! I wonder what else he has done?" That is the reason I came on here, to see if this actor managed to get work after turning in such a lousy performance in this movie. lol

I cut myself some slack, however. I've been up all night without sleep and wasn't giving the movie my full attention.

After discovering that it was a woman doing the part of Warren and Emily, I'm still puzzling on why the acting was so poor when she was doing Warren. She was great as the woman in the movie but, imo, she was terrible at playing a man.

I say what I mean and mean what I say. It's just that simple.

OOPS I was wrong. I misread the cast credits on IMDB, "Eugenie Leontovich ... Helga Swenson". I read her name as Eugene and just checked the actor's bio to find she was indeed a female.

The thing I thought weird about Warren was how he kept his teeth together when he talked and only moved his lips. When I looked at the cast credits I discoverd the actress was playing both sides of the road. Also Warren had weird eyebrows (sort of another give-away).

The hour was late so I didn't see the whole film.

Sorry about my goof, it wasn't the first and likely won't be the last.

OMG, this was my exact same reaction, and is the reason why I didn't put two and two together that Arliss was playing Warren. She was so natural as Emily yet so bad as Warren that I thought another actor was playing him. But maybe the stilted acting was intentional for this very reason, to make the audience think that two different actors were playing Emily and Warren.
