Peoples' thoughts about...

The re-filming of scenes from Gidget for this movie, so they contain the new actress, when she was telling Amy(Was that her name?) about Moondoggy on the plane .
I thought it was pretty dodgy. Just wondering what other people thought..

It was Abby.
A few of the remake scenes were done fine. Her being pushed back under the water by Moondoggy is one of them, but when he sang to her, in the other film, she was lying down after having nearly drown. (The swimsuit she was wearing looked about the same too.)

I didn't really like the remade scenes. They kind of bugged me but then I just like the first film and don't think there was a better Gidget than Sandra Dee. It also bugged me that Moondoggie gave Gidget his pin and the end of the first film but then they had him give it to her in the beginning of this film for the first time again a year later. No consistency there.

^ Agreed Gidget05.

I liked the sequel OK, but I thought Deborah Walley was a little too chipper, I guess. I mean, I know Sandra Dee was really perky and happy too, but it was overkill at times (too much smiling).

I actually like the refilming of the Gidget scenes and I like Deborah Walley as Gidget. I thought Sally Field did a great job as Gidget. Of course, I love Sandra Dee. The only Gidget I did not care for was the third remake of Gidget featuring a blonde actress whose name I don't recall.

In Gidget Goes Hawaiian the filming locations are very good - Leo Carrillo Beach in Malibu, North Beach, New Zealand, the Royal Hawaiian, Honolulu - and what still continues to amaze me "How can the producers expect the viewer to swallow the scenes of supposedly snarking each other on a sailboat and it's so obvious they're on a prop boat in some warehouse with a really fake backdrop of Diamond Head behind them." So many of these old movies do this to us expecting us to depart from reality and believe the actors are actually sailing on a boat in a harbor, waterskiing, or the biggest joke of all time, riding along in an automobile (ha-ha-ha)

I didn't like the remade scenes. I think it took away from the first film...
