Neville Brand as Capone

Did Allied Artists need to get permission to use Brand as Capone since he was still doing an ocassional bit on The Untouchables? Or did Desilu see it as hyping the character and therefore the TV series?

The last two episodes of "The Untouchables" that featured Al Capone as a character (played by Neville Brand) aired in January of 1961. This suggests that they were filmed weeks earlier in the Fall of 1960. The release date of "The George Raft Story," was November 22, 1961, implying that there was plenty of time to do the movie after Desilu was finished with Mr. Brand. The movie does not appear to have level of production value that would have required more than several weeks for pre-production, filming, and post production.

Wow...there's a special place in heaven reserved for you for answering that (six-year old) question...I hope there wasn't something important you neglected to take the time to look up that information...

Thank you, ichray.

I'm just cruising the internet. I like old movies, so I watch TCM a lot and look through IMDB. When I see a question that incites my curiosity, I try to chase it down.
