It was on TCM today.Should be remade

This is a powerful story. I never saw this movie before today and watched it because of Paul Henreid. But Glenn Ford was not the right actor for Julio. The best cast has still not been made for this story. Someone -an actor or director who has rights to develop stories should re-make this. It could be a great story today with a dream cast and director. Could envision Daniel Day Lewis or Javier Bardem playing the older roles. Steven Soderberg or the Coen Brothers could direct. There's all kinds of possibilities.

No, it shouldn't. And it never will be, trust me.

It might one day be re-made--the Valentino version, perhaps . . .

I'd hate to see a remake especially involving the people you've mentioned here. I like the version I saw. I don't think anything is wrong with it except it wasn't the kind of movie audiences wanted to see at the time. I'd expect people watching it today would have a better appreciation for the movie than audiences did back then. There are a lot of similar themes going on today.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
