Guy who is nothing knocks up woman - of course not getting married
Guy who made something of himself doesn't have kids

Woman has nothing and now is desperate so she marries guy with money but doesn't love him and only cares about loser boy

Then she just has to wait for guy to die or they can just get a divorce so she can take his money and go back to her guy nothing

Unfortunately, this is just like most of our world.

There are many lessons we can learn from a movie like this.

Guy who is nothing knocks up woman - of course not getting married
1. Calling Marius 'nothing' is kind of harsh but I get what you're saying. He's young and hasn't experienced life. However, the amount of money or experiences one has does not determine worth. Simply being human is something in itself; we have inherent worth that makes us important and more valuable than the finest gems.

2. It's important to consider the consequences of our actions before we undertake them. Sex, for example, is pleasurable and it's free, but the consequences can be costly and last a lifetime. Fanny and Marius' moment of passion cost them at least ten years of happiness and it will continue to affect the rest of their lives.

Woman has nothing and now is desperate so she marries guy with money but doesn't love him and only cares about loser boy
3. This is why those who are not ready to deal with the consequences, like unmarried young people who are still dependent on others for support, should wait; not try to rush life. Fanny and Marius are hardly ready for life, let alone marriage, or a baby. Marriage can wait but life marches on and babies wait for no one. Babies need constant care and things like food, shelter, diapers, and clothing cost money.

4. Sacrifices sometimes must be made. Fanny can't provide for her child and, in those days, couldn't even give him a name; other than bastard. However she may feel about Marius, her primary concern is her child's welfare. Panisse is an old man who wants nothing more than to have a child and an heir. They work out a solution that will benefit all involved especially the child.

Then she just has to wait for guy to die or they can just get a divorce so she can take his money and go back to her guy nothing
5. Relationships are complicated. Panisse isn't foolish enough to think Fanny loves him the way a wife should love a husband. As we learn in the end, knowing the marriage is in name only, he gets his 'needs' met elsewhere. Fanny, on the other hand, does not do the same. She treats him with respect and kindness for all his days; however long that would have been. She doesn't do anything to hasten his death but once he's gone, she can move on with her life however she sees fit.

Unfortunately, this is just like most of our world.
6. Life is what we make it. While there are plenty of twists and turns; ups and downs; unexpected events; and all kinds of things that affect us in life, how we choose to deal with those things before, during, and after determine the kind of life we’ll have. To say, ‘this is just like most of the world’ sounds very defeatist. I choose to believe the trajectory of our lives is mostly in our own hands.

7. In the movie, it may seem the characters have little control over their own fate but that’s far from true. The choices they make lead them to where they are. Fanny kept her feelings and her condition hidden from the person she supposedly loves. Marius didn’t find all he was hoping to find because, like many people, he thinks happiness is something external that should be chased. Happiness is a choice; it comes from within and is not conditional.

That's some SERIOUS BS.

You're right, of course, because that's how you chose to see things. You don't have to agree with me but in not agreeing you're making my point. How I see the world and look at life make me who I am. The ways in which you see things make you who you are.

If that's working for you, great - keep it up! If not, I would say it is within your power to make changes. You would probably disagree, saying you're stuck with your lot in life. With that attitude you'll simply do nothing and accept your fate. That's too bad.
