I've noticed on several websites, including the Internet Archive where it's streaming, that they say the plot of this film is as follows:
"A gang of bank robbers terrorize a small town by knocking on doors and then killing whoever answers."
Of course this is incorrect and has nothing to do with the film we know. I was wanting to know where this plot outline came from? Is there another movie with this story?

yea when i read that on the IA I was thinking "why would bank robbers just knock on doors and shoot whoever answers" so i had to come here and see that the real plot is totally different, the knock n shoot plot is interesting though ;-)would make a good thriller/comedy
shareI was thinking the same thing, that could make a good movie on its own. I haven't found a movie like that so far. I imagine when the film's title was renamed 'Door-to-Door Maniac' this new plot somehow came into being.
