Thems were the days.............

A movie about (essentially) a newspaper office (I know it's a disaster movie) where they use a real newspaper office (and it's staff). Great visual segues: look again at the moving wheels and the referral of the headlines to the next scene; and the odd bit of ad lib (Leo McKern's glass eye even gets a mention). Then there's the witty and respectful (to the languge) dialogue and nice splicing of scenes into real footage but also knowing that a mock-up will do when it's the drama that matters. Done on a small budget and more engaging than The Day After Tomorrow. Okay, I'm showing my age, but it's still there at the top of my sci-fi list.
