RIP Edward Judd
I just noticed that according to IMDB he passed away February 24 2009, RIP Mr. Judd.

shareI've never seen him another film, but his role in this classic is fantastic. A well-written character, portrayed with lots of energy, I love how his character made these cynical remarks all the time, while deep down being an emotional person as well.
"What If" is a game for scholars.
Timothy Dalton, The Lion in Winter (1968)
Judd was always "nearly" a leading man. Needing a toupee from an early age and having to fight the flab a lot kept him out of the top ranks.
He DID have a very active career in British television, one of the stalwarts as either a good or bad guy in "The Saint", "The Avengers" and much as the various dramas over the years.
Come on lads, bags of swank!
I didn't think he was flabby in this movie, but otoh, I thought he could have beefed himself up a little for the shirtless scenes... In any case, an outstanding actor with a good sense of comedic timing as well as projection of guilt and believable adventurousness (of which my having just re-watched The First Men in the Moon reminded me).
