Even though many appreciate her looks (IMO she's close to being a knock out, but no Sophia Loren), Ina Balin is the worst actress I've seen in a major Hollywood film. Her delivery is so stilted it comes very close to ruining the whole movie.

she was cast in some pretty reasonable films in the late 50's to mid 60's, winning herself a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress.🐭

Yeah, Pia Zadora won a Golden Globe too.

I disagree with your appraisal of Ina Balin. No she is not Sophia Loren in looks or acting ability ( in that era only Jean Simmons comes close). But worst actress ever? I have seen many that are inferior ( Cloris Leachman is one that comes to mind). Another is Wende Wagner who played the Indian Girl in Rio Conchos.

Hey, nothing against Miss Balin, who I think did some winning work, opposite Paul Newman, in FROM THE TERRACE; but why the unfavorable comparison against Miss Leachman, who was as adept at comedy (YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN) as she was in dramas (THE LAST PICTURE SHOW)? Besides, they're two completely different types of actresses. It's like saying Julia Roberts is a better actress than Glynis Johns and makes about as much sense.

There is no actress that I dislike more then Cloris Leachman (Candice Bergen comes close). She makes anything she appears in worse ( see her on 'Facts Of Life compared to Charlotte Rae for example).

I noticed it too. Balin was kind of stiff and amateurish at times, but okay at other times. Definitely not a great actress. But cute.
