deleted scene? confused

I first saw this in Italian as a child. I remember one scene that left a lasting impression on me. It occurred after the rapes. Sophia Lauren is upset, she pulls out her breast and says saying something to the effect of "what shall I do with these now?" (Was she lacysting?) I have never seen this scene again since in any version. Was it cut from the movie after Ms. Lauren won the Oscar? Or am I confusing her performance in another movie? As a young man, the scene tintillated me and that was my interest; older now and with all the "artistic freedom" today, me interest sincerly is out of confusion! Please help if you know the answer! Thanks.

The scene is in the movie, but it's not Sophia Loren who pulls her breast out. It's another woman in the village Sophia and Belmondo visit at one point during the story. The woman probably lost her baby and she was still lactating.
As fas as I'm concerned, and I recently saw the movie in dvd, the scene is still in it and it's a very powerfull and heartbreaking scene.

Correct. Prior to the rape, much earlier in fact, they arrive in a village and a young woman is wandering aimlessly. They ask for food and in her stupor and sorrow she offers her bare breast as the Germans have killed her baby and she has no use for the milk now. It remains in the movie that I just saw yesterday.

"As a young man, the scene tintillated me and that was my interest..."

It's not tintillated, it's TITillated. TIT. That's spelled T - I - T.

I just had to make it big - the TIT's, I mean.

Nice.

Considering the subject of the movie, this joke is rather tasteless. Peace bro.

I thought there was a scene where Loren's character finds a can of peaches and opens them and shares with her daughter. I didn't see it in the version I watched last night. Does anyone else remember that scene?
