Veronica Cartwright

Veronica Cartwright has had a wonderful career. She is still making movies and doing TV shows. Fantastic!!!!

I caught this movie half way through, and when I saw her I thought, "I know that actress now as an adult..." because her facial features haven't changed that much. I came on here to find out who she was and sure enough, it was exactly who I thought! WOW.... she has done a LOT!

There were actually three (not two) exceptional performances in "The Children's Hour". MacLaine and Bainter are always mentioned in discussions about the film, but Veronica's performance as the kelpto blackmail victim tends to get overlooked, simply because it was a smaller part and because she was a child actor. But Wyler really gets a stunning performance out of her; in what was probably the most challenging role in the whole production. Cartwright had considerably more acting for the camera experience (and innate talent) than Karen Balkin (who played Mary) and she is able to really showcase her skills in the scenes they have together.

Veronica is one of the most underrated actresses working in film today. I am amazed as to how even film fanatics don't even know her name - - but when I mention that she's the little girl in "The Birds" or "The Children's Hour" or the other woman in "Alien" or the last survivor in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" or the cherry vomiter in "Witches of Eastwick" and everyone knows who I'm talking about. She's amazing.

I have admired Veronica Cartright ever since I saw "The Birds" on television in the late '60s. I knew of her sister Angela Cartwright as the character of "Penny Robinson" on the TV series "Lost In Space" before I saw Veronica (I later became aware of Angela's earlier role as "Linda" on the series, "Make Room For Daddy" in the 1950s).

In the years that have passed I've seen Veronica in many acting roles, including several of those already mentioned. She once played Ethel Kennedy in a TV miniseries about Robert F. Kennedy. Most recently, I noted her performance as Alfred Kinsey's mother in an early scene of "Kinsey" (2004). I couldn't believe that little Veronica Cartwright was playing Liam Neeson's mother! She did it well. I look forward to seeing more of her versatile acting skill, in the future, as well as other things she's done in the past.

She was excellent in "Alien" and "From the Earth to the Moon" as Gus Grissom's wife. She is very underrated.

I know you meant 'The Right Stuff', and she was amazing in that picture.

Veronica Cartwright gives THE child performance in this film.

YES. She's fantastic. Completely believable as Rosalie.

I thought all the children in this film were fantastic actors! Especially Veronica and Karen Balkin.

Lol.
I've also noticed that she seems to cry a lot, not only in the movies you mentioned, but even in some of her TV appearances. Like when she portrayed an assistant district attorney in L.A. Law, and her character had a meltdown when she suddenly remembered that her father used to molest her.
But at least we can say that she does the crying act very persuasively! She's had so much practice at it!

Fuck off. No wonder she looked so familiar. She really has featured in a number of quality films.

I'm suprised Karen Balkin (Mary Tilford) wasn't in a film I'd seen previously. She has one of those 'child actor faces' that looks so familiar. Similar to hellraisers in films like Vilage of the Damned or Bloody Birthday.
