Why let the woman fall on her face?

At the party when that woman fell onto the floor and what looked like on her face, she could have been serious injured, in fact she could have been killed. They should have grabbed her before she fell instead of just letting her fall like that. Weird people.

I KNOW! Everyone at the party was too insouciant.

Timber!

reply

Because she was loud and obnoxious and nobody wanted to help her.

Communism was just a red herring!

That probably does happen in real life, though.

Because Mag Wildwood is a thumping bore!

reply

Why? Because that's how the director wanted the scene to go. Don't overthink every aspect of the movie.

reply

I read that they used a dummy for that scene...

reply

Maybe they are all too self absorbed to think about the well being of someone else. Or perhaps they assumed someone else would help.

It's classic comedy to laugh at other's pain. Just like slipping on a banana peel or getting a pie in the face.
