The brands to would be nice to know.

Some kind of pastry and a coffee. The brands? You mean the specific place she bought the food? God knows.

reply

Starbucks, of course. Duh.

Seriously, I know that not everybody who posts here is from the U.S.A or speaks English as a first language, but what an odd question. The coffee cup was from the prop department, obviously, probably filled with water because with so many takes coffee would get cold, and it looked like she was eating what we call a long john in the U.S.

You can even see a pictures of a long john on Wikipedia, but that one has frosting. I can't remember if what she was eating had jelly in it or not, but that doesn't necessarily NOT make it a long john--I don't think.

It was stated in the IMDB Trivia Section that they were Danish pastries....of which Audrey Hepburn had a strong dislike.

That made me laugh because it seems like I read a lot of behind the scenes info about actors who dislike the food they have to eat on camera. I wonder if the pastry was too sweet for her.

Mag, Darling, you're being a bore.

Too sweet and too fattening.

I took your advice and looked it up. Wikipedia states: unfilled bar doughnuts are called Long Johns and their filled counterparts are called éclairs.

There is a book about how they made this film that says it was coffee and a Danish. Audrey didn't like Danishes, just ate it for the picture. Holly would have gotten it, I always imagined, from a 24-hour diner or cafe, or more likely an early morning sidewalk vendor. As far as the real-life brand, who knows?

Me too. A raspberry cheese danish and coffee in an IV.

I could swear I've seen a photo where you can see that the bag she takes the Danish out of is from Schraftt's. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schrafft%27s_(restaurant_chain)

I just saw this film tonight, and I always assumed Tiffany's must have a cafe or something inside in...I never knew the title referred to standing outside the window LOL

reply

I know, I thought the same before I saw it, haha.

I think it was a raspberry pastry of some sort and just a regular coffee with cream...

There were no details that would allow us to know what brand. We can only tell that she was eating some pastry and drinking some beverage, possibly coffee.

The items were in a brown paper bag. The drink was in some nameless white paper cup. The only detail we need to know is that the breakfast was likely cheap, something she picked up from a street vendor or local deli or something. Hence, despite his clothes and her standing in front of Tiffany’s, she really is poor.
