Besides waiting for it to be shown on television is there any other way of getting it? Can't find it anywhre!

Such a good film should surely be on DVD?

Hello, did you get ahold of a copy? I've a beautiful copy in widescreen (still slightly cropped to 16:9) on DVD if you'd be interested in a trade.

This film is available from www.thevideobeat.com, a site that specialises in 1950/60 rock music films and themes. (The Boys has a 'soundtrack' by The Shadows but it's barely audible.) The dvd copy from this site is not of great quality either but I don't know if it's available in better quality anywhere else.)

It`s out on DVD by a company called Renown and occasionally turns up on Talking Pictures(UK Freeview HD ONLY).The Renown dvd isn`t pristine by any means with print damage and excessive grain and the widescreen ratio looks forced.Actors` faces become stretched at times at the side of the screen which is annoying.

SPOILER ALERT-The film is a forgotten gem with terrific performances by Robert Morley,Ronald Lacey in particular. The story is cleverly told with twists and turns and the flashbacks give great depths to the characters but the very brief description in the courtroom of the policeman blocking the escape, leading to the frenzied attack, just doesn`t have the power or more importantly the belief of the viewer that these boys(Dudley) are capable of such a crime. This is the most important event in the film and we need to see what appears to be a relatively honest boy commit this appalling crime-the brief description in the courtroom is totally unsatisfactory.Aside form this there`s a terrific scene where Richard Todd finally tracks the killer into a corner over the "purchase" of some cigarettes for his cancer-stricken mother.Look out for some interesting locations too including the awful apartment blocks where these boys lived:the interiors look real and you can see the damp conditions, peeling wallpaper ,frosty breath. We also get a glimpse of what was heralded as the answer to the slums:the beginnings of a lovely lego-style 60`s tower block!I wonder if this has now been demolished like the slums it replaced?Anyone know the locations used?
