Elvis' Singing

I've always wondered about his singing in the movies. Is he actually singing in the scences or his he lip syncing to the sound track? Or maybe, he is actually singing, but because of the acoustics, that singing is dubbed over with the soundtrack? Any ideas?

Elvis or anyone for that matter in any singing scene from films are allways miming , they have to because of outside niose and of course mistakes .

He could be really singing, but they would not use the sound because of the reasons sited by lightcloud.

Oh yeah, that explanation makes sense.

I'm the kind of guy, when I move - watch my smoke. But I'm gonna need some good clothes though.

If your high school English teacher taught you otherwise, she was wrong.

I think the poster means was he live singing or miming to a track of his own vocals. In this case he was miming his own vocals. I can only think of 2 movies where they actually sang live on the set as opposed to lip syncing and that was Les Misérables and Jersey Boys.
