THANK YOU!!! all i could think of when watching this (mst version of course) was that it seemed really familiar... i too read it in high school - i guess its required!
i think i like the short story better...

The 1932 film version of THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME is much better than this movie and it utilized the sets of KING KONG. Check it out. The "gore" element of BLOODLUST surprised me though.

I was just watching THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME and could not help thinking that it was a remake of Bloodlust

Of course you meant Bloodlust was the remake :) I wonder how many movies and TV shows have used this concept? Anyone seen the episode of Gilligan's Island with this theme? I think Rory Calhoun played the hunter. I remember being scared by it as a little kid - worried that Gilligan would be killed.

Probably more than we realize. That's the glory of public domain. Anyone can make their own version.

Good episode. I love how over the radio they hear he had a mental breakdown. He's such a good hunter and shooter, but he just couldn't catch Gilligan.

The original transforners show and csi miami both used the plot.

I can think of 3 other tv shows off of the top of my head where it has been used. An episode of GET SMART where the hunter is played by Harold Gould and he goes after Don Adams. LOST IN SPACE had an episode where Professor Robinson (Guy Williams) was hunted by an alien. LOGAN'S RUN where Horst Bucholz was going after Gregory Harrison.

There's also an episode of The Incredible Hulk TV Series in which a man is hunting Banner. There's also Surviving the Game (1994) with Ice-T as the prize.
