Great film score

This film has a great film score which really makes the movie. The composer / conductor is listed as Meyer Kupferman. Reminds me of the way the score to the French Connection worked. Full orchestra of session players it seems. How they could afford all that on a shoe string budget is beyond me. The score seems written for the movie and not just from some archives. Fantastic. If they did use an actual composer with jazz and symphonic skills plus highly skilled New York session players, that would be an impossible scenerio today.

Score was great, narration could have been toned down a bit. Otherwise, really good movie.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out. I've seen a few other older French crime films and they were great. Just watched a documentary on Thelonius Monk called Straight, No Chaser. Superb.

100% agree, I was extremely impressed by the score. Glad other people are taking notice of it's beauty. Such a gem of a film, it's sad that only now it is being brought out of obscurity.

I really do have love to give, I just don't know where to put it

That dude playing the bongos in the bar scene was awesome. I'd like to find recordings of those two songs without all the dialog and narration interrupting them.
