Actors and their ages

Celeste Holms (the mom) was only 44 when this movie was filmed, but she looks much older! A 44-year-old actress today could still look shapely and sexy.

Terry-Thomas was 50, and he certainly looked like a 50-something in this movie. But he was not at all believable as a chick magnet pursued by college students and neighbors alike! His students, aged 18-22, would have had parents in their 40s, that is, their parents younger than him. I think that an actor like Tony Curtis, for example, would have been far more believable as a heartthrob in this movie, perhaps playing a younger 30-something professor.
