why did Kay call her husband Addison?

That's their last name... Weird.

Who knows? That's why I tired of watching Bones (calling each other Bones & Booth after they'd had a baby & gotten married) & Castle (still calling each other by their last names after they'd gotten together & even married). It's not cute or endearing, just stupid & annoying.

And Winnie called her husband "Colonel". I don't know any real life couples who go around calling their spouse "Dr.", "Chief", "Officer", "Nurse", "General" or whatever. Unless you count the goofy old couples who call each other "Mom" & "Dad" after their kids have long flown the coop years ago.

Trixie Norton often called her husband "Norton" on THE HONEYMOONERS.

I have a friend, age 63 now, that always called her husband by his last name. He passed away about 10 years ago. Now, when she speaks of him, she says his first name. I suppose her reason was hearing it often on intercom systems. He was always on call from the oil company he worked for. Most people I know call their significant other by a name like hon, dear, etc.
