Season 2 on DVD

Any news on when season 2 will be coming out on DVD?
I am so glad this finally made it to DVD.

I have not heard anything but cannot wait for Season 2! I swore I was going to space out Season 1 but I was so happy to see them that I went through all the episodes in no time at all.

Same here. My nine year old son of course, had never seen " Hazel ". He loves it! I received the DVDs on a Friday, and by Sunday, we had watched all of season one. Looking forward to season two. I also like that Sony didn't cover up the original " Screen Gems " logo at the end like they have done with other releases. It just brings back the original feeling and memories of the show that much more.

I can't seem to find anything about a release date for Season Two. I had never seen Hazel before but had read about it many times and was totally blown away by the episodes. They were funny and I thought they had held up very well givent the fact they are over 40 years old. I can't believe TVLand or Nick@Nite didn't run this series. It is very well done! Shirley Booth was remarkable. I've seen almost all of her movies and I'm a huge fan. I really hope Season 2 will be released SOON!

I am also anxious to see Season Two....this was a wonderful show and as everybody else has said it holds up very well, given the age of the series...it is wonderful to see a cast (all of whom are dead now) in their prime and a joy to watch Shirley Booth in one of her few forays into television, and with only a handful of movies to her credit (as she was primarily a stage actress, The Matchmaker, Hot Spell, Come Back Little Sheba, a few of her movies)...It was sad to read about Bobby Buntrock being killed in an auto accident only in his early 20's...Let's get on the bandwagon to get the second season out (TV series on DVD's has a site to recommend new series to be transferred to DVD, please go to that site and recommend it!!) I particularly like the episode where Hazel helps apprehend a shoplifter during the Christmas Season, while she is working in a Department Store to earn money to buy "Missy" a Christmas Gift....although they are all good....You will appreciate Don DeFore as Mr. B...he played Thorny Thornberry on the old "Ozzie and Harriet" show, and Whitney Blake was Meridith Baxter's real Mom and was in the first Perry Mason episode back in the 50's.... Hooray for Hazel!!

Well, season one has not been out that long, only about six months and they usually don't release the series sets (especially the older shows) but once a year so maybe when the first anniversary of the first set's release date is here there will be news on a second season set.

I too can't wait for season 2 of Hazel, please tell me the website you are referring to about tv shows we want to see on dvd. I will go there and voice my opinion asap!

I have come to the conclusion that sadly there will be no Season 2 HAZEL Dvd. It's been well over a year since Season One was released. The classic pre-1970 shows almost never get their complete runs on DVD other than I LOVE LUCY and BEWITCHED. Most only get 1-3 seasons, I kind of think they believe their is limited interest in full runs and later volumes who compete with and hurt the sales of the ones they already have out.

Remembering JANE WYMAN (1917-2007), BETTY HUTTON (1921-2007), YVONNE DE CARLO (1922-2007)

Sony is very slow on DVD releases. Even Bewitched has now slow down to a crawl.

I've given up hope on a HAZEL Season 2 set, just as I've given up on a HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL Season 4, CHEYENNE Season 2 and others too numerous to mention. As glad as I am to have the first season, it only makes my disappointment greater that they've abandoned the series. It's like "you build me up just to let me down."

And it's just not the classic pre-1970 shows. The DVDs of BOB NEWHART and THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW have quit after four seasons and I'm even starting to lose hope of seeing a seventh season of ALL IN THE FAMILY.

It seems the longer the lag between the seasons getting released the less likelihood of seeing another, though there's been an exception--BARNEY MILLER. Season 1 came out back in 2004 and the second season is coming out in January 2008. So somebody must have reconsidered, and let's hope that person gets around to looking at HAZEL. Even with a relatively small market (compared to popular new stuff like 24), I can't see how a DVD release couldn't make back its money and a little profit for all involved.

Here's hoping and here's wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a great 2008.

Honestly, I think one could write all the letters one wants but the only thing that is going to move to into releasing a season two is if season one's sales are sensational and apparently they were somewhat mild. It is a show that hasn't been on the networks for over 40 years and all of the main cast are deceased so there's little to drum up attention for the show for new audiences sadly. I'm glad to hear of new people who stumbled on to Hazel and enjoy it but I would imagine the overwhelming majority of people who did buy the DVD are people who grew up with it in the 1960's and reruns in the 1970's.

That's what is so sad. I have a feeling that there are so many good shows and movies that will be totally forgotten. Hazel was shown quite frequently in reruns back in the late '60's, and the 70's and 80's. So were shows like Donna Reed, Patty Duke, Private Secretary, Ann Southern--I could go on and on. But somehow after the early 90's those shows really disappeared.

If a lot of people bought season 1, they would make season 2, etc. although in some cases it depends on who has the rights to that season. There are some shows (Make Room for Daddy, Donna Reed) where I have heard that someone else owns the rights to a certain season, making it difficult to do an entire series.
