Was footage of this show used in the April 4th 2007 episode of Boston Legal? They showed black and white footage of a young william shatner talking to a character who played his father on the show. I am just curious if anyone knows.

shareYes it was. The end credits of the episode listed the show "the Defenders". William Shatner appeared in 5 episodes.

The footage you saw was from the CBS television studio presentation series "Studio One" http://amazon.imdb.com/title/tt0040051/ which ran 10 seasons (1948-1958). Season 9 had a two-hour presentation titled "The Defender" http://www.amazon.com/Studio-One-Defender-Martin-Balsam/dp/B00006RJHB in which Ralph Bellamy and William Shatner played a father/son legal team.
That episode became the "pilot" for the series "The Defenders" http://amazon.imdb.com/title/tt0054531/ which ran from 1961-1965.
