Ep by ep; My Wildest Dream/Requiem/Pandora

Going to do three in a row as they're godawful!

My Wildest Dream; ?

Requiem; A little tribute to Steed and a conceit that has been repeated many times BUT then again maybe this was original in the 60s?

Pandora; oh terrible, the final revelation with the painting is clever but that's about all.

My Wildest Dream

I rather liked this one. The main thing that stands out to me is how wonderful Tara looks in this episode. (I made a post about that a while back.) I think they finally got her styling right. She looked soft, feminine and elegant, yet still bad ass. She looked great in the leather coat! And the wigs are actually attractive here, Tara also has a fantastic fight scene that was excellently arranged and shot. Interesting to see Tara the object of a mans desires, and however relationship with Steed makes the man jealous. The sets are also fantastic with the op art set.

As for the plot; it was interesting, the concept of conditioning to kill. The tine can tend to drag a bit, but overall interesting.

This episode was aired in a late night time slot in the US I believe due to its graphic, violent content.

Graphic violent content largely confined to paper?

Ahhh Pandora. This is Linda Thorson's favorite episode of all time. I can see why as an actress she would like it. The plot revolves around her completely and she is given a lot to do acting wise.

The plot is a little convoluted and complicated to go through all of that to find the money. Tara is also drugged up most of the time. However, putting certain aspects aside, I did enjoy the episode. The idea of using Tara as a dead ringer of Pandora, the time travel feel, and Tara's psychological confusion, it is entertaining. There are some truly creepy aspects to the episode. The car with the skeleton wearing Tara's clothes stands out, as well as the dummy reveal at the beginning with no face.

It may be far fetched and not gel entirely, but I thought it was a memorable entertaing episode. It also had great music. Love the Theme From Pandora.

Requiem:
Here we are with another elaborately devised scheme...and Tara drugged up...poor girl, how many times has she been chloroformed, drugged and rendered defenseless? However, I must admit I did enjoy this one. The plot was interesting enough and figuring out how they are duping Tara was interesting and clever despite being totally unrealistic. Who would go to those lengths?

Steed's interactions with the girl he is hiding out are fun, playing games and witty banter. Also, how they had to dress the property with the erns and weather vain etc was memorable. Tara thinking Steed was dead showed her feelings again and her emotional bond with him.

Also, Steed's apartment was blown to bits. I believe this episode was filmed right before Bizarre, the final episode, so I wonder if they really did destroy the set. Go out with a bang so to speak. I don't think Steed's apartment was seen in Bizzare at all. I wonder if the show came back for another season, would Steed have been given a new apartment?

Overall, for me, this episode was not that bad and was entertaining.

I meant to say when Tara thought Mother was dead, not Steed. When Tara discovers Mother alive, you see Tara's affection for Mother which was cute.

You're right, she rivals Wonder Woman in the chloroform stakes.
