Hardly a departure from "Carry On"

This was one of several movies (The Big Job was another one) which used the same comedic approach & formula, same devices, many of the same actors as the named "Carry On" films, & made by the same (Rogers & Thomas) team ... in effect a quasi-Carry On. Ed "Skippy the Bush Kangaroo" Devereaux as an American commander (must have been a shortage of "crank yankers" around London at the time). Best part of Watch Your Stern is Eric Sykes & Spike Mulligan (doing his outrageous Indian impersonation) as the two civilian 'sparkies'.
