Why Didn't The Wasp Woman Kill Mary?

The Wasp Woman usually killed her victims right on the spot but she just dragged Mary into the lab and after Bill pushed the Wasp Woman out the window Mary was still alive.I often wondered about that.

As mentioned earlier, female wasps only kill and devour males.

She probably tried but failed, partly because she was interrupted.
