The medicine (spoilers)

Spoilers:

Did anyone think the medicine from Iwabuchi's superiors/partners was suspicious?
I kept thinking it was poisoned and Iwabuchi looked at it with high caution as well.
He ended up not having it himself but gave it to his daughter... maybe to test it out if it was a poison or not?

I thought the daughter was a goner when she instantly fell after taking the medicine, but the film had more surprises.
The daughter, who I thought would, does not die and instead Nishi is the one who dies.

Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down and a Wagging Finger of Shame

I never got the impression that the drug Iwabuchi got was poison. He was mixing the drug and about to take it for himself until opportunity arise and instead gave the drug to Yoshiko just to make her sleepy and weak.

If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story.
