In looking up actor George Shibata, the IMDb bio page states he was born Nov. 14, 1926, and is still alive as of this date (12/16/08), which would make him 82. But the lone piece of trivia posted by someone on his page states he died in 1987. Doesn't anybody read, check and conform these things on IMDb? So which is it -- is he dead or alive?

George Shibata's IMDb page has since been updated to reflect his death on May 20, 1987. Sorry to have it confirmed, but at least their error has finally been corrected. IMDb does lag behind the times, sometimes. Thanks for putting the coda to this topic.
