Who is the girl?

Does anyone know the name of the girl who played one of the alien children? The one who a village boy bounced a baskedball off her head and she turned around and was about to eye him when David told her to leave him alone?

About a decade after the movie was made there was a pretty young woman in one of my college classes who looked sort of like an older version of her and even wore a coat similar to the ones the children wore. I some times wondered how she would react if she was asked: "Has anyone ever told you you look like a monster from outer space?"

Her name is June Cowell, the sister of American Idol's Simon Cowell.

She's only a half-sister of Simon Cowell.

And for those who haven't pulled up her filmography yet, 'Village' was her last role in movies, after only a few child roles.

I'm curious why, as the article states: "...at the age of 15, she decided it [movie & TV stardom] was not for her and gave it all up".
Now she's complaining about being comparatively penniless.
This is no doubt selfish of me, but I wish I could have seen more of her in movies. Very peculiar that she would have given that up. Wonder if she had bad experiences with some of the producers or what....
