It's pretty bad when the best acting comes from...


...those robotic-like children.

They were actually quite good...the rest of the cast was HORRIBLE!

As for the movie, it had an interesting, unique premise...but didn't go anywhere. They could have done so much more with it.

As for the ending, it's a joke...and it comes far too abruptly.


They traded God's truth for lies and worshipped/served the creation rather than the Creator.

Nonsense. This had some of the very best Brit character actors, and George Sanders was at close to his best.
While the kids did well, especially Martin Stephens, they were child actors, not seasoned professionals.
I would concede that Ms. Shelley was not at her best at this point in her career.

The children were the best actors in the whole movie, I will agree with that. They were absolutely wonderful with their performances and truly did seem creepy and menacing. But the other actors weren't bad at all in my opinion. Have you seen the remake? Perhaps you would like it more.
