The horse jumped up on the roof?

When the Kiowa brother comes riding up to throw the spear into the front door his horse appears to jump up on the sod roof. Camera views throughout the film of the front of the house make it look as though the roof is 8 to 10 feet high! Unless that horses name was Pegasus I don't see how he got up there.
