Holy smokes
The Criterion blu-ray of this film - 4k restoration I might add - is recommended to anyone who likes superb movies.
The film is a hidden classic. Alec Guinness gives a wonderful performance.
So does John Mills, if a less sympathetic one. I think it's a really good film too.

Interesting actor, looking forward to seeing his oscar winning performance in Ryan's Daughter (hope that film will be given the same treatment as Tunes of Glory one day).
