Coming to US DVD on April 27, 2010

VCI has announced a DVD of this film, listing a street date of April 27, 2010. The cover as shown on amazon.com says "widescreen," although the IMDB doesn't really indicate that the film is true widescreen. In any event, I'm sure that the VCI transfer will be from a very good 35mm print. It's a fun film that deserves a much higher rating than it has received in this forum.

Update: the new DVD offers both widescreen and fullframe. The image is pretty similar, so this might have been shot at 1:37-1. The color is decent, although it varies from scene to scene. This was a low-budget film with many outdoor scenes, so it will never look "as though it was shot yesterday." Still, it's great to have this hard-to-find film on DVD. The late Connie Hines has piercing blue eyes that were never apparent on her long-running TV series MR. ED, which was shot in black and white. She's very good in her dramatic role here, and I wish she had a much longer show business career.
