awesome

Isn't this the movie where they do that backwards stuff? There should be some cool discussion about this. Or else everyone is square. You know the Twin Peaks dream sequence? One of the greatest scenes in film, and owes a debt to this movie.

Oh, wait, this is the sequel or something, eh? Don't think I saw this one. Anyway, cool stuff.

This movie gets really great when the horse man starts walking down the path. Starting with the footage from the other film was eh, as was the acting of the first character, The Professor I believe. Yul was very charismatic, I hadn't seen him in anything before

I ordered the "trilogy" on a whim. Was I a) an idiot or b) smaht?

Discuss.

Definitely smart. His art is really curious and surreal (that first film was a pioneering work of cinematic surrealism), and he was some sort of power player in esoteric circles. I'd say watch Orpheus (the second film) first. The first has nothing directly to do with the other two, and the third, with its surprising albeit brief cameos, can be enjoyed on its own merits (despite the obvious ties to the second film).

Got it?

Other than the masterful Beauty and The Beast, I've never seen another movie from this director available on Region 1 DVD.

reply

Got it! Well, it's on the way, hahaha. Thanks.

Now, what about 95min vs 112min for the second film?

Whichever one is the Criterion DVD, is my safe answer to that. I haven't seen any other. And that one is 95 min.

I just got it in. I’m stoked.

I was thinking Twin Peaks too! I wonder if David Lynch ever saw this movie, and if he did I'd like to know what he thought about it.

You mean a Cocteau film? Yes, it is.
