One thing was painfully evident....


....watching this film and FEAR STRIKES OUT was the fact that Anthony Perkins didn't have an ounce of athletic talent. He would have been more credible in both roles if he had.

Perkins looked completely dorky in most of the basketball action shots, but in one of the warmup-drill shots he almost dunked.

(Also it must be remembered basketball in 1960 was different than it is now and LOOKED much dorkier. The conventional overhead jump shot was still relatively new at the time -- it really spread in popularity in the mid-50s.)

For a slender guy in good shape about 6-2 (according to Google, his height) it's not unthinkable Perkins could dunk. I am 5-9 and in my youth a lot less slender than Perkins, but I could still come within 2-3 inches of touching the rim.
