You took the words right out of my mouth. She really looked great back then and still looks good for her age, but her left wing extremist politics stink to high heavens.

reply

I would say her politics these days appear to be pretty much in the middle. But I do see that if your politics are wayyy over to the right you might consider her extreme.

reply

You consider it middle of the road politics to sell out American POW's to communist criminals? Sounds like YOUR politics are way out in left field, aka Fonda and Obama's.

reply

If you have an open mind (seems debatable) you might want to read Jane's autobiography "My Life So Far". Turns out her politics these days are pretty much mainstream. She also expresses some regrets about some of her activities during the Vietnam war. I guess there will always be those who seem stuck in the 1970's and refuse to grow up or out of it.

BTW if you think the President has left wing policies you may have been watching too much FOX. Dont believe everything you hear them say.

reply

Sounds like you've been listening to Obama's personal propaganda network, MSNBC. Maybe Jane Fonda does regret what she did when she took up for the communists against American POWs, but she's still another Hollywood left wing extremist. I'm sure she was parading around campaigning for Ocrappo, in both 2008 and 2012. And I'm sure she, along with the rest of you liberals hate politicians like Ted Cruz who have the backbone to tell it like it is.

I find the politcally incooreect comment (by today's standards) she made during the movie to be a lot more interesting and fun. Talking to the professor early in the film, she says, "Any woman, if she's honest with herself, will admit that she's in college for one reason, to find a husband."

reply

LOL...I agree. I'll bet she can't stand the fact that she said that line in the movie. It goes against everything these left wing extremist women's libbers believe.

reply

Anybody who is still cranked up over what JF said 40 years ago probably doesn't give a sizzling jack-$#$# over the political opinions of ANY hot-babe movie star anyway, so why get bent out of shape over hers?

That said, her character was one of the most breathakingly stupid-bimbo roles I have ever seen in a major movie.

Thanks, herbqedi, for trying to get this thread back on track (and not just a rant about current day politics and a liberal use of the word "extremist").

Yes, that line is not politically correct, but it is somewhat accurate if you leave out the word "any". Not every woman in 1960 attended college to catch a husband, but many of them did. The film fairly accurately portrays male/female relationships.
