minor loose end ** Spoiler

An enjoyable movie, but to me this was a gigantic glaring hole in the film - that was a lot of money - as the professor said - it was a year's salary! So how is it they could just run off with the money and there's no consequences? I didn't understand that - the only thing I could think of was that maybe we're to believe it was some kind of divine intervention that provided the money out of the blue? That doesn't really seem likely in this instance either though...

I didn't understand that either. Who was the voice on the radio wanting him to throw the game? And like the question here asks, why didn't they come back for their money?

yes I thought the same thing when it was over.

And it wasn't just the four thousand... the gamblers who provided the payola for the fix would have lost 10X that much money on bets. They would be royally pissed...
