My new favorite movie
i recently became obsessed with Tommy Kirk
so i started watching all his movies i watched this one yesterday and it was
AWESOME!!!
i loved their tree house
but whats with the name Swiss Family Robinson?
Its my favourite too!!
I cant get enough of it :)!!
From what i remember, when i last saw it the family are originally from Switzerland but they wanted to travel to New Guinea to be a part of a new colony.
Their surnames are Robinson and they are Swiss.
So Swiss Family Robinson! Thats what i remember anyway - i haven't seen it for a good while!
God I remember this movie when i was a kid Watching it like 3 times a day,, i think i wore out the tape,, or thats what my parents told me,, But it was also fun because we then would go to Disneyland and then explore the treehouse,, Back then thats what it was, not the Tarzan treehouse,, i think thats what it is now. But it was alot of fun to watch and see in life for a kid.
shareWe would have gotten along as kids. I think I watched it daily for quite some time. It was taped off of TV so there were a few cartoons with it, but back in the mid 80s I wore that tape out! Found it on DVD 10+ years ago and am watching it now for the second time on DVD. Best part is I still remember a lot of the film considering I've seen it once in 25 years at most!
shareI always liked this movie growing up. The dvd is pretty good as it has some decent extras and a commentary with the surviving cast. I watched it on Disney Plus and it had a content warning on it but I really can't understand why. Does Disney think someone might be offended the pirates are Asian?
shareThese days, Disney and anyone else think everything is offensive. I just ignore that stuff! Fun to rewatch this! Thoroughly enjoying it!
