I dunno about this one...

Watching it on TCM now. It's not bad exactly, but it's one of those movies that never stops being a play. So there's acting and a script but nothing particularly filmic about it, so your mileage will vary accordingly. And my mileage is on the lower end of things...

A lot of movies from that period are like that if they started as stage plays. The term for that kind of look is "stagey". It's just something you have to adjust to. One of my favorite movies, "Inherit the Wind", is the same way.

I agree. At the end I said to myself, 'what was the point of this'; 'why did I just spend two and a half hours watching this movie'? It was NOT worth it.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]

It's a play filmed like a play with good acting. But I agree, was all is literally said and done, was it really worth it? I think it was. It shows the way politics works but sadly in a somewhat sixties naive way. Liked Bellamy and Cronyn in it of course.
