It is about time this terrific film was given a DVD release. There should be a campaign to have it released. Does anyone know who owns the rights to this movie?

I agree! Would love to have this classic on DVD! Why are all these Robert Mitchum movies not getting released? 'Going Home (1971)', 'Wrath of God (1972)', 'The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973)'...come on!

Fred Zinnemann, Deborah Kerr, Robert Mitchum, a slew of Oscar nominations and still no DVD! I love this movie...guess I'll have to hold on to my VHS copy...

AT LONG LAST THIS GREAT FILM GETS A DVD RELEASE ON 27th JANUARY 2007,UNFORTUNATELY ONLY A REGION 1 (US/CAN) RELEASE, BUT HOPEFULLY A REGION 2 WILL SOON FOLLOW.

region free dvd players are readily available and inexpensive.

Oh Boy..Just read this and cant believe that you found it unavailable on dvd, I have had this ages and its region free so it plays in any country.take a look at my list here : www.dvdclassix.bravehost.com

Watched this movie or the first time ever yesterday on TCM and loved it. It was like watching a story about real, actual people, not Hollywood caricatures. The acting was beyond spectacular. I'm going to have to buy the DVD, but I'm hoping it also gets released on Blu-ray.
