Sundowners

I was born the year this film was made.Born at Port Augusta but we resided in Quorn. My father was a painter and painted a lot of the scenery which was required for the sets,he still has the sketches from then. Our dog was also in the film. Quorn was a very affluent town with a brilliant swimming centre. My school was a house and we would often climb Devils Peak while collecting Yakkas. The Sundowners was filmed at that time in history and does reflect how things were. The pubs (too many) were well attended.Woolshed Flats was often visited by school students, learning about the shearing.Yes the actors were mainly American and English, but we were priviledged that they chose to come to such a little place called Quorn

Gotta love a town that gave us Fos Williams.

And yes, one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
