Sheep Shearing Competition

According to Wikipedia, a shearer can shear a sheep in 2 to 3 minutes, or in less than 2 minutes in elite competition. If you observe the tallies after the first two shearing sessions, Carmody (Mitchum) and Johnson (Watson) are both shearing at about 2 minutes per sheep - very realistic (if almost elite) times!

Just another great, realistic detail in this great film.

It is a nice little portal looking back at an Australia, that at the time, was said to be "riding to prosperity on the sheep's back".🐭
