the kid's bus location

I read that it was shot on 100 N. Kenter Avenue, Los Angeles, California, USA, but if I look at the google satellite pix, it doesn't look like it at all.

I understand that time passes, but the width of the street shouldn't.

I'd love to know for sure where that location is and where kim novak's house was.

I also wonder if the interior of the houses were sets or practical locations.

anybody that worked at Columbia can illuminate me?

I looked at the Google map site, but I thought the location with the intersecting road that Larry drove down to go home after Maggie got out of his car that first time was the same location, especially the way the side street curves at the intersection. No school bus stop there now, but I believe it's the same location. I'd love to see Maggie's house today, too. I'd bet the interiors were sets.

Also wish there was a soundtrack available for this movie. "Picnic" and "Bell, Book and Candle" involving George Duning have soundtracks available, but not this movie which has beautiful music. I wrote to the record label that put out "Bell, Book & Candle" and they replied that the soundtrack for SWWM was never available. All the movies were Columbia Pictures.

1. There is a post on this thread discussing the house being built. It's not a set. At least one of the others has an address in the IMDB "trivia" link.

2. The bus stop does seem to be in Brentwood. I saw a street sign that was near the Kenter Ave. location. I visited LA many times in the late 60s and at that time it still looked a lot like it did in the movie. So, to me that location's credible.

3. I liked the song, but only remember different versions of it during the film, i.e. a folk version, jazz version, bossa nova (?) version, and the sung version at the end. Doesn't seem like enough material for a soundtrack album.

4. The words to the song behind the ending credits were quite poignant, though I missed a few words as to why at some future point "we won't be strangers when we meet." Anyone who has the words, please post them!
