Predictable ending

I kept getting the feeling Seven and Jim Flood would become friends. I knew it would end with Seven shooting him and Jim purposely missing him. Jim wasn't going to kill Seven. I was hoping they would try something different, but it had to end with the lawman shooting the outlaw.
