Rafer Johnson played Corporal Krump in this movie

He was one of Sergeant Ruthledge's men. Johnson was a great athlete and made several movies. He is uncredited in this one. He was injured in 1959 so he must have made this one before he got back into serious training for the 1960 Summer Olympics where he was to win the decathlon and gold medal.

Also uncredited but appearing early in this movie on the train is Hank Worden as Laredo. He appeared in many John Ford and John Wayne movies.
