legal question?

After Billie Burke character testifies her direct examination the prosecution rests, then the defense waives cross examination, and the prosecutor wants to ask more questions. Can he do that? I mean how can he re-direct if there was no cross examination?

reply

I don't recall this scene (I don't doubt it's there - I just don't remember it) but with the permission of the court and particularly with no objection from the other side just about anything is possible, especially in a remote location.
