Jeffrey Hunter's bandana

It's either identical to the one John Ford gave John Wayne to wear in Stagecoach and worn by Wayne in Hondo and many other Wayne westerns OR it is John Wayne's bandana, possibly loaned to Hunter to star in this John Ford western after Wayne and Hunter had done The Searchers together. I'm talking about Wayne's famous red , white and blue bandana, best seen in Hondo and identical to the one worn by Hunter in this film.

I'm not sure if this is an homage or not but the bandanas in the entire film were used properly. They are supposed to be a very handy item in terms of smoke and dust ventilation/ washing your face (if not fresh water then canteen water)/you name it those things were and still can be invaluable. People make fun of Heston in Soylent green for wearing one but he used it. I've noticed your question has been unanswered...that is a tough one dude. Maybe more will reply.

Considering the hot filming environment and long days, it is not surprising that a cast member carried a piece of fruit to maintain his energy level. There are many examples....Oh, bandana. Never mind.

I arranged a threesome once - there were a couple of no shows, but I still had a good time!
