The DVD release

It will probably be difficult to release this on DVD because the production company that released is long gone and the rights for ALAKAZAM are probably expired and its not telling if anyone has picked it up for a proper DVD release.

If they do release it, maybe they should consider a Two-disc set that contains the original Japanese version as well as the less-successful American release.

I hope someone buys the rights and does release it. I want to see this so bad. It would be great if it's dubbed with a faithful script but just English subtitles would be great.

Let's hope that this rare treat will get a proper release.

I'm watching the American version on laserdisc right now- it was released by Orion (who bought the American International library) through Image Entertainment, MGM owns the rights to it now since they bought the Orion catalog after that company went under. They haven't put out a DVD but it is available on demand from Amazon- they've had new transfers of a lot of old movies available there that haven't been issued on DVD, which is pretty frustrating.
