Violence against women


Awhile back someone posted a message saying he liked Rocco &... but was disturbed by the scene where the woman gets beat up. There's a similar scene near the beginning of Pasolini's Accattone. I agree that such scenes are disturbing, but in both cases the director was reflecting on a social problem. Ignoring the problem would not make it go away. Both films are tough masterpieces, in my opinion.

Of course men getting beat up is no problem. Reality: you're going get beat in life no matter what is between your legs
