A lot of people go around recommending inappropriate films on IMDb! Someone's just trying to be amusing!

This is great -- I signed in ***exactly*** to post about how bizarre (and also, _faintly_ appropriate) that a recommendation would be for "The Flinstones", and I find that the only board message is about exactly that.

Well.

I will add only that, in response to the commentor who writes "It makes you want to go to Greece ever more", I say, with no mean intent and a friendly pat on the shoulder: "Sorry, the Greece you're dreaming of does not, and never has, existed." (15 minutes later - early dinner ...) Where was I? Ahh, yes, the romantic port of, ahem, Piraeus, in, AHEM, 1960 (well, 1959 really.) Where to begin? "First Prize -- A Weekend in Piraeus!! Second Prize -- a WEEK in Piraeus!!" Ahh, the aroma of the diesel exhausts; the roar of the engines; the smash and clatter of the cranes; the, umm, items floating next to the piers; yes, not many places can make the Brooklyn docks look like Calvi, but Piraeus certainly manages. Would you like to go jumping into the waters of Piraeus nowadays? Allow me to suggest that You Would Not: not now, and still less were you to weigh the idea nearly 50 years ago. There's a **reason**, my dear, that at the end of the movie, when the guys go diving "into the drink", it looks like we are a good quarter-mile or even half-mile off shore; and even at that, they probably had to get injections afterwards.

Seriously, though, if you want an excellent recommendation after watching Never on Sunday, netflix has Topkapi with Melina Mercouri, Maximillian Schell and Peter Ustinov.
It's a delightful comedy.

Forget this Flintstones nonsense, but if you must, get The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, which is much more fun than the first one.
